I had the same problem on a brand new (in the box) Honda. Would run for 30 seconds then shut off. Took it to a Honda service center and he told me the fuel system was "gunked up" because of old fuel. When I told him it came straight out of the box, he said Honda left fuel in it after testing it, then boxed it up for shipment. It could have been sitting somewhere for months with leftover test fuel in it. Cost me $75 to have it cleaned out and, of course, Honda denied any responsibilty!!
