The reason I got a 2000 over a 1000 is because it is only 200 bucks more for twice the power, and the noise is pretty much equal. 2000w = being able to run almost any 15a appliance, vs 1000 being overkill for battery charging, cell phone, and lights, and yet not enough for many other things.
