I have an EU2000i Companion that I would like to use for regular things like power tools or even a toaster! What type of adapter would I need to plug into the eu2000i companion in order to get 110? ...

You don't need an adapter, just plug the tool into the outlet. You would only need the adaptor to hook up a second generator if the load was over 1600 watts.
