Yes, they are suicide cords. No, kids aren't kicking out the cords and electrocuting themselves. They are pretty darn hard to kick out. Yes, I plug them all in before starting any generator. I think you can buy your own banana plugs if that's a concern.

Let's just get that out of the way first.

The EU2200's hit the market then suddenly all gone due to a recall. I haven't seen any available locally in Canada recently. Can you give a bit of a review on your thoughts on the new 2200 vs the tried and true 2000 which is what I have currently. I have seen a few videos and one thing I noted is the 2200 has a different sound. Thanks in advance

Just hooked it up today, but so far seems fine. Don't really notice much sound difference, but they're all running at the same time. Later today I can fire it up by itself and have a listen.

I *think* the oil fill hole may be larger which means I can't use my handy oil change aluminum spout to make oil changes easier. Not sure about that yet.

For sure would be keen to hear your thoughts. I also bought a custom aluminum spout back in the day. Would be sad if it didn't work on the 2200 also

Nope. The new 2200 has a much larger oil fill/drain hole and a fuel shut off combined with the stop/start switch for running the carb dry. (don't know why using the drain screw on the carb is so tough) I found a screw in spout on the internet. Chino

I believe this uses the banana plugs for power and the 5-15 connectors just for the ground.



Also get your triple feed 6 gallon extended run fuel tank to go with it.

Interesting. I have a question regarding pairing of generators that ARE NOT identical in terms of running watts rating, as you are doing here. I seem to recall reading somewhere that your combined running wattage is going to be limited by the LOWEST rated unit in the pair, or of the three as you are doing.

In other words, the paired generators will share the load equally up to the point where the lowest rated unit hits its limit, and then stop. The higher rated unit(s) will not be able to take on an unequal load.

Can you comment on this? Does that appear to be the case with your units?

I have no way of measuring whether that's the case.

I do know that parallel sources (at least in DC) will contribute what they are capable of, independent of the others, whereas series connected source ARE limited by the smallest amperage unit. The triple parallel kit link shown above seems to say what I think.

Good question, but so far I can only speculate. Zia is in heaven camping in tall grass and hunting mice.

I ran it alone and didn't really hear much difference. The on/off switch has a 'click' on it to turn off.

And as said above, the oil fill IS larger. Bummer. I hope I can find a new drain spout to fit.
