when was the last time you cleaned the unit, i mean taking to cover off the rooftop part, hosing it out, getting a foaming cleaner to clean the fins and so on. I was having this issue also and a good cleaning and it is fine. as for the fan, I was always told it had to be on auto to run the ac. to low of air flow will freeze stuff up also.
