The sequence goes like this. The unit HAD to be plugged in. The Battery was being charged by the RV charging system. At some point the electrolyte was being slowly boiled off and the plates were exposed. When this happens the Hydrogen gas is produced in excess. Something in the area produced a spark(loose connection/anything), THAT spark ignited the Hydrogen gas and the case blew up. The battery was probably bad and that is why it boiled dry. Hopefully, MOST of the Electrolyte was boiled out before the Case exploded and kept excess acid from causing more damage. Doug
