It would not make any difference if you use the complete cord where the wires are or what colors they would be. As long and the say left one ends up as the left one on the other end. My unit used a 6 pin cord, does yours or is it a 4 pin.I had a hard time getting a 6 pin cord and a retired AT&T guy made 1 for me.
