Fantastic fan problem

We have a Fantastic fan with thermostat and rain sensor. I went to turn it on the other night and the cover opens when I move the thermostat switch, but the fan doesn't turn on.
Any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks,

The plunger is stainless steel so doesn't rust, however crud builds up around the shaft and needs a shot of lubricant once a year or so to keep it moving properly.

It is a simple make or break switch on the ground side of the circuit.

    Well then, I've been lucky, it's been 7 1/2 years. :)
Thanks everyone for the comments. A little brushing and WD 40 did the trick.

  • Too bad. Fantastic Fan replaced many parts on my fan for many years. Hate to see the news owners diss the many customers.

It wouldn't be very smart to do it very long as it could come back and bite them in the rear. People sometimes have long memories.:S
  • Fantastic Fan has had perhaps the BEST reputation for supporting their products of any supplier of RV stuff. There are many stories on here and elsewhere of actually getting to talk to an actual person who knew what they were talking about. And the "no problem, we'll send you one of those" at no cost and without even asking how old the fan was (been there, done that).

I didn't know that they had been "acquired" by Atwood. Let's hope they don't screw it up. It would be a great tragedy to see one of the seemingly few bright lights in the RV equipment industry go dim!
