The K&N would be used as a pre-filter much like my BiPAP uses a foam filter as a pre-filter before the HEPA 2 filter pad. Those HEPA 2 filters cost a bundle but they are so fine a media they keep out pollen. The best system uses a vibrator to shake the foam (dry) and dust settles to the bottom of the box. Maybe one of those audiophile acoustic house shakers? :)
