Not sure about foam media on top of pleated paper. I saw bulk foam media in a wide range of particle size rating, from coarse dust to invisible fumes. Pleated paper comes in a narrow range, and costs more because it is framed.

And, what happens to the paper when it rains? (It does rain in desert areas too).
