Finally replaced the Dometic with a Samsung RF18HFENBSR!
We were planning to do it after we returned home from Arizona. Well, the Dometic had different plans. The icemaker gave it up last year. Then, this year the freezer drain defrost heater gave it up. Had to manually defrost the freezer with the wife's hair dryer. Grrrrrr.
Well we are down in Yuma where you can get absolutely anything done to your RV. Started calling around till I found someone who said, "Yes, I've done a bunch of replacements. Let me run by and take a look and verify your measurements before you order the Samsung."
Unfortunately, had to purchase in a Home Depot which was a couple hundred more than I could have ordered it on line. Home Depot delivered it in two days.
Mitch Thomas at Family RV 520-304-9672 arrived at 8:30 with two other guys. I one hour they had removed the passenger chair, had the Dometic out the door and the Samsung in the door. The two guys then left and Mitch proceeded to finish preparing the cabinet. He finished at 11:30. The removal and install required a total of 5 hours labor at $90 plus a service call for a total of $490. Got out for a total of about $2K. We thought it was a great price.
When I get home, I'll finish the trimming out the opening and do some more detailing.
It is soooooooooo nice to have all that room and an icemaker that works!!!!!!!!!!!!!
