firestone air bags

I have a 31ft coachman with firestone airbags in the rear how many lbs do most of you keep in them, im putting 65 lbs in, but they only stay a week then drop to 50 then goes lower from there down to 20 lbs
  • firestone airbags have a lifetime warranty. Change them out
  • How old are they? Are they OEM equipment? If not, did you install them yourself or have it done? The warranty should be good.
  • this rv is a 2014 with 4k miles on it , they were installed on it when it was new im the second owner so I dought if I have any warranty
  • When my Ride Rite air would not hold air I checked all the fittings to make sure air lines were fully seat in fitting. Grab hold of the fitting and push air line toward fitting. They should not move more than a 1/16". If they move this will properly seat the air line in fitting.
  • First thought...where exactly are they leaking at?

I had a heck of time getting my air fittings to quit leaking.

Talked to manufactures help line about it. They recommended the soap in spray bottle and look for bubbles type thing.

Turned out my pocket knife didn't do that good of job cutting.

Bought cheap tubing cutter at big box store and made exact 90 degree cuts in tubing and all my air leak problems went away.

Again firestone airbags have a lifetime warranty give them a call.
  • Another thing to keep in mind. When it comes to airbag "psi", it can read one psi with an empty fuel tank and read a higher psi with a full fuel tank. PSI is relative to how much weight is being carried,ie, fresh water, fuel tank, black tank. All will be relative. I have an F250 with Firestone airbags and I had a time getting the psi equal from one bag to the other. Raise one psi and the other will read a little lower...Food for thought.
