This is where misinformation can cause problems. The Heating element on this model refer is 300 watts. Putting in any wattage heater HIGHER than the model is rated for can cause problems with the welds because the higher wattage will cause excess heat. This is exactly what Dometic had with their recall. They installed higher wattage Heat elements than spec called for and instead of replacing the heating elements on affected units(not all had the higher wattage) they installed a recall flame control kit. If using a higher wattage element would increase cooling capacity or time, then they would install one on ALL their units. Doug
