The altitude is pretty low. The extra atmosphere will block a lot of sunlight. Test this up at 4,000 foot elevation in Boulevard CA, and you will see a lot more amperage. There is a casino up there, but not sure about any campgrounds or dry camping areas.
Congress is another area near you where you can test at low elevation, then climb the mountain about 8 miles to the north, and gain about 2,500' elevation.
There is a Escapee's RV park in Congress. At the top of the hill, there is probably over 4" of snow this time of year.
