This SHURflo Pump Silencer Kit consists of two 3' long 1/2" hoses with factory installed 1/2" FPT fittings that will connect to the pump fittings perfectly ...
I may use that, I'm looking for additional options. According the the Shurflo web site they are the 30" hoses.

if 3' isn't sufficient just barrel the two lengths together with the included M > M fittings.
This is why I'm looking for options, I should be able to figure out the exact length that I want and make something up to suit my needs exactly.

I'm unclear as to why you'd prefer to not use them.
I may, but like I said, I'm looking for other options. I just assumed I should be able to put together something that meets my needs exactly even if for a higher materials cost.

1/2"id is 1/2", whether pex or vinyl. try an ACE for the right vinyl food grade tubing.
That's what I thought. It's possible the the homedepot tube was way off from it's nominal OD. However it looked like the PEX barb was smaller than the "regular" barbs as well. I'll have to double check that next time

Any hardware store should have standard sink hoses in many lengths.
Yes, looking at them is what prompted this query. This whole project was supposed to be a quick trip to the store to get one of those hoses. Most of those hoses have an ID of of something like 3/16" They appear to be very restrictive.

While you're taking the time to move the winterizing connection, why not move the pump, if possible?
Then it will be in a more convenient location if you need to change the pump.
That's a good suggestion. I would also set up some form of isolation for it at that time. For now, I just want to deal with making winterizing easier because I may have to do it a number of times this season.
