My new rig uses a braided flexible hose for some of its piping that is the same size and uses the same connectors as pex hose. Lowes/HD don't have any braided hose this size.Does anybody know a source for this as I'm trying to do some modifications??Thanks,Doug

You can get fittings that will adapt from PEX to standard braided vinyl tubing held on with hose clamps. They have lots of tubing connectors in brass or sometimes nylon like these: Amazon or look thru this page for ideas PEX to Tubing

Hose is available from eTrailer as well as many RV stores. I have never seen a proper 1/2 PEX to 1/2 hose adapter. Just because the RV industry clamps hose to a PEX fitting does not make it right. You need a hose barb that is larger and a different shape to connect hose. I find it funny that they say that an RV is tested to a certain water pressure while containing these mismatched components. A fitting that might work for you is this one, although still not correct. A hose should be connected to a barb such as this.

Yes that is what I used also. I got tired of my poor water pressure and dropped the underbelly and found the hose between the tank and pump kinked in 2 places.

Hose clamps are for rubber engine radiator hoses, not house plumbing.

There is flexible hose that is rated for pressure. I have it in my 5th wheel and found replacement hose at Ace Hardware.

Reinforced vinyl tubing is most certainly used for portable water plumbing. Both in RVs and boats.

I had issues replumbing some of my lines with the braided PEX. Soaking the end in some hot water for a few minutes makes it very flexible for a bit.
