Flickering 110 lights....
This is a new one.
Been using the A/C non-stop all month due to high temps (Phoenix). Been here since Sept. 1. No problems until the last few days when I notice flickering (like a blink) every while one of the A/Cs is on low. Hooked up to 50 amp. No flicker in the 12v lights. This afternoon it was every 15 seconds. Tonight it's every 6 seconds or so. It's getting worse. Can someone run me through the things to check first?
It's been over 100 all month. First thought is water in the batteries since it's been so hot, but if that's the case wouldn't the 12v be flickering? What would affect only the 110 and not the 12v? Fortunately it finally cooling a little at night so I have the ceiling fans running.
Just blinked again even though the A/C is off but the 110 lights above the bed are on. It's continuing. No problems with the tv. Worried I'm going to fry something here though if I push it.
I have an inverter/converter combo unit. Power goes into the main panel then though that unit and back to the sub-panel.
I'm thinking maybe first about plugging into another space to see if that resolves the problem. ? This is a huge park -- 2600 or so space and I heard a few people several streets over in park models had problems with their Arizona rooms but not inside the main part of the house and they sent someone out to fix it. I'd like to rule that out. Although the whole street could be having problems. That doesn't necessarily mean it's my rig.
Got the schematic out. the Main AC is on the main panel before the power even gets to the inverter. Wouldn't that suggest the problem is likely at the post?
