Lights Flickering

Maybe not related but lights have begun to dim and then brighten. Also entered the MH earlier and the Carbon Monoxide alarm was beeping. Okay, reset the alarm and the lights brightened. Checked the Heart inverter and it is no longer buzzing as it normally does when it is just plugged in to power. Just now lights flickered and the CM alarm came on again. Thoughts? Problem Solved. Read post below.
  • Is this happening on shore power or battery? Are you sure if on shore power?
  • My first thought is a power issue. We stayed in a non-professionally built RV Park one time. It was full of RV'ers and at night when everyone was in their RVs using a lot of electricity our lights dimmed quite a bit. Someone measure the voltage at the pedestal and got a reading of less than 120V.

I have heard of battery issues where lights flicker and CM monitors will alarm due to power fluctuations from the converter/charger going bad and unable to regulate the power properly on the 12v side.
  • Your inverter also charges your batteries, and if your battery voltage gets low the the lights will dim and alarms beep. So check battery voltage and am sure you will find it low. Then find out why the inverter is not working; kdk
  • Yup, let us know your battery voltage (digital voltmeter) for the house bank, for the chassis bank.
  • Battery voltage and make sure all connections on battery cables are tight.not loose
  • Problem solved. I am on shore power and inverter usually buzzes a little all the time. Soooo I checked the batteries and had one post with some acid buildup. Checked that post and nut was not tight. Also next post was finger tight too. Checked voltage and it was 11.8. Cleaned both posts tightened them down and inverter began to hum. Hooked up auto battery charger and made sure all batts had correct water and we are good to go. I knew you all had all the knowledge so thanks a bunch for the help. Snugged all the nuts and will check the auto charger tonight along with getting another charge reading. Man at 38 degrees, it's cold out there. Be blessed wherever you are.
