What makes you think your Paramode converter didn't fail due to heat? Every 10C rise above room temperature reduces electronics life by one half. There's a reason high reliable electronics get a burn-in test to weed out latent failures.
Yes they are both in the same compartment, right beside each other. Actually, all my equipment is in my MH's big storage compartment. This one is larger and goes through to the other side of the rig. Mex just posted the specs on the power supply. If it doesn't have overheat protection I'll never see it since its upper limit is at 60C. The Iota is just absurdly low. Quite frankly, I was surprised given its reputation. Like I said, it works fine when the temperatures are not in the 100's but I don't have time to be checking it everyday and unlike some here, I don't have some cheap Walmart batteries that I can afford to let sulfate and just simply buy some new one's every year. The float voltage has to work consistently, hot or cold.
