Flow Control Valve

I have seen several posts about the Oxygenics shower head and one of the few complaints is that the valve on it doesn't shut off. I understand this is required by law, probably because you could get a blast of very hot, or cold, water when you turn it back on.

I am not suggesting that anyone break the law, but flow control valves are made and they do shutoff, unlike shower shutoff valves.

I thought it is interesting that Neatitems.com sells a flow control valve that fits the Oxygenics shower head and is available in white that matches the Oxygenics shower head.

  • A post was deleted due to problems with the forum that stated that the poster had never heard that using a valve that shuts completely off was illegal. I forget who the poster was, sorry about that.

I in turn posted that he could be right. I thought that I had read that on the forum.
  • You may be right, I'm no lawyer.:B I thought I had read something to that effect in some post as the reason that the shut-off valves on the shower heads do not shut the flow off. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong.
  • I have never heard about any illegality of this. it is merely to make a good product better. I am sure that some shyster lawyer would take a case however. ;)
