Foot pounds…
Winnebago’s manual states to torque the trailer wheel lug nuts to 90 to 95 foot pounds and I’ve followed this policy for years. A number of friends say that’s not tight enough. Any advice?
If Winnebago specifies 90–95 ft-lbs, that’s usually the correct spec for the studs they use. Manufacturers set torque based on the stud size and wheel type, so going tighter isn’t always better and can actually stretch or damage the studs. I’d stick with the manual and just re-check the torque after a few miles of towing.
