Foot pounds…
Winnebago’s manual states to torque the trailer wheel lug nuts to 90 to 95 foot pounds and I’ve followed this policy for years. A number of friends say that’s not tight enough. Any advice?

follow the manual and ignore your friends which obviously don't know much. you have been following the corect torque for years and nothing has backed off, or broke.
Big advice: follow the manufacturers advice until your friends show up with engineering degrees and conclusive proof on why the factory is wrong. Then tell them to do what they want with their own rigs and you will continue to follow the instructions that have been vetted by a whole staff of lawyers to ensure limited liability.
