The times I have had overheating issues it has been caused by one of the following:
Twice- Bad fan clutch
Several Times with several different vehicles- bad thermostat. I am currently replacing the thermostat in my daily driver
Once- clogged radiator
There is a product which is great for RVs and tow vehicles it is called 'Wetter Water". It performs as advertised and helps keep the coolant cooler as you go up grades.
