I would spend my limited funds looking for the root cause of the problem, not trying to mask the symptoms. Finding physical TDC on cylinder 1 is not physically difficult, just requires removal of the spark plug. AutoZone, O'Reilly, and AdvanceAuto all will loan you a timing light free of charge. They will explain how to use it if needed.....
