Hi gmctoyman,
I'm not considering 17.5 rims. I'm considering wider rims.
The R is a ratio of width to height--so if I go from 225 to 245 I'll have more side wall, and a slightly larger diameter--and more load carrying capacity.
225 X 75 = 168; 245 X 75 =~ 184
184 - 168 = 15 mm increase (I don't know if that is a radius or a diameter)
