For anyone with an Outback MX60 controller, here's a little FYI: It's rated to pump out up to 60 amps to the batteries, but there's a way to overrule the settings and turn it up to 70 amps maximum--the owner's manual actually says this tip is a reward for reading the manual!
We ran our basement air on the batteries once, but decided not to do it again because of the modified sine wave inverter, plus it's just not a very nice thing to do to the battery bank. What I'd like to do is run the spin cycle on our Splendide combination washer/dryer but I've never heard of anyone using it on a modified sine wave inverter and I don't want the Splendide to go the way of the electric blanket or drill battery charger, both of which burned up on that inverter.
