Four Season Packages

Our model didn't offer that package, just dual pane windows. When temps require heating or ac it's clear that there is a lot of air turnover. Do four season packages make a bit of difference, a huge difference? This is a major factor in whether we trade our nearly flawless camper and assume the risk of problems with a new one.

  • Those replies are very helpful. We'll stick with our problem free Eagle for a while longer. We're spending five - six months in it in the winter and would like something a bit larger, but we'd be very unhappy campers if we spent boku bucks and ran into problem after problem.
  • I know what you mean about trading in what you have. We would like bigger but after reading the horror stories on here, appreciate our problem free rig.

The thing that gets the coldest in our 3 season is the window frames. Covering those with heavy bath towels made a world of difference. Stuffing the vents and putting rugs on the floor helped too. We don't feel the drafts from the windows and the furnace runs much less. We are use to below freezing at night but don't do freezing day and night so it's not worth the extra cost and weight of a 4 season.
  • Four season packages can vary. One camper, it just means the furnace blows on the tanks. Another, it means a completely enclosed underbelly, heated pipes, heat pads on the tanks, a hot water recirculation system through the underbelly with radiators in the storage areas, and so on.

I know of two companies that make decent four season rigs -- Arctic Fox/Northwood and Lance. Others may or may not... but check feature list than the words "four seasons", as those can be just marketspeak.
  • I have an "extreme' package. That means it's good down to 20 degrees. You won't notice a '4 season' enough to justify the trade off, I've owned both.
  • If you have an almost, "flawless" camper and already have dual pane windows I don't think you are going to notice a huge difference in trading for something with the so called, "4 season package," or as ours is called, "Thermal Max all weather Pack."

    do you have a 15K A/C?
slide toppers help some in the summer also.
