- LwiddisExplorer IITry a battery operated fan in the fresh food section. Works for me. That’s what I figure.
- maillemakerExplorerI was on a week-long camping trip two weeks ago. I pre-loaded the fridge with frozen food in the freezer. The freezer stayed super cold (fog inducing) for the duration of the trip, but the fridge compartment never got cold.
I figured maybe with putting all the pre-frozen stuff in the freezer the fridge thought it was cold enough and quit trying to cool anything at all.
Steve - gboppExplorerThe original refrigerator in my 96 Southwind works and does a good job.
I let it run for 24 hours before I check the temp.
Like Old-Biscuit said, be patient. - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIPatience...
Freezer has to get COLD first BEFORE food compartment can even begin to cool down
Freezer at 9*F is at temp that food compartment can start cooling down
Give it 12 hrs and then check food compartment temp using a bulb thermometer in glass of water sitting on shelf
IF after 12 hrs freezer is still colder and food compartment is not at 40*F (fins S/B 10*F colder) then you may have a blockage in cooling unit between LOW temp evap (freezer) and the HIGH temp evap (food compartment) - DrewEExplorer IICheck it after maybe twelve more hours. It takes a good little while for RV fridges to cool down. I think typically the coolant goes into the freezer heat exchanger thingy first and then works its way down to the fridge. Since you're getting cooling in the freezer, the cooling unit is clearly operating.
- kerrlakeRooExplorerAbsorbtion fridges can be extremely slow. Try putting a few things in there that are already cold, 2litre sodas from the house, maybe a bowl of ice , give it a overnight and check it again tomorrow.
