I had the same situation recently. So, I took 3 steps. First I hitched up and pulled my 5er from WI to MN. During that trip I had a bleach solution sloshing around in my fresh water hose. And when I got to my new campground, I replaced the filter on my whole house water filter.
Not sure if 1, 2, or 3 of those items fixed my problem but I'm much happier now.
