Since you said you took your fridge in for repair, I'm thinking you have it sitting on your garage floor with the power cord plugged into the wall. This won't give it the 12 volts the RV normally provides. If you have it back in the RV, either the batteries in the RV are dead or you failed to connect the 12 volt wires it must have to work (or there is a blown fuse/tripped breaker in the 12 volt fridge circuit). Your batteries SHOULD charge when the RV is plugged into outside power. Sound to me like the converter (also is responsible for keeping batteries charged) is the culprit. Especially if it has been a problem before. Converters have just a few connections and are simple to replace. Just carefully mark and record what goes where before unhooking so you don't mix up the wires when you install the replacement! Converters are around $100 on Amazon/eBay. Just be sure to get one at least as big as the one you are replacing but going way oversize is a waste of money. My experience with converters is that after 10 years they are on borrowed time. All this assumes the batteries are still good. Dead batteries will cause the converter to trip out. How old are the batteries?
