Fridge warms up at night!

I have the Dometic DM702 in the slideout. On my last trip ithe fridge temp wasn't staying cool at night. It has always been erratic but it got bad on this last trip. It would be as high as 41-46 degrees on some mornings. The outside temp was in the low 39-40's. It has fans in the back compartment but I haven't heard them coming on at night. I have a circulation fan attached to the fins inside but had been turning it off at night. Any ideas or solutions?

  • Better verify the fans are running. Another issue that can occur is low gas pressure.

In the past 4 years I've been blessed with 2 bad fans one old one new and 3 bad pressure regulators one old and 2 new.

The first replacement fan ran when installed and had failed before we got to our destination 12 hours later. Replaced it again it's been working now maybe 2 years.

The first new regulator was bad when I put it on the camper with max adjustable pressure at 8" WC. The second new one lasted about a year.

All of the above created refrigerator cooling issues for me.

Not sure if Dometic has a similar operating cycle, Norcold does, but another issue that occurs that isn't an actual problem is a defrost cycle that allows the frig to melt any accumulated ice on the cooling fins.

You may also want to pull the frig and clean the burner. This may be indicated if the unit works good on AC but not as well on gas.

    Good luck,

    Not properly attached or bad

    Recheck that model number?
