fridge/propane issue?
Just got the rv out of winter storage about two weeks ago. Had some routine maintenance done and had a solar panel installed. EVERY DAY since we've had it back, at least once the "gas" light has started flashing. For two weeks this has happened every day, sometimes only once. Never more than three times. It almost always occurs between midnight and 8 am, but has happened once or twice during the daytime as well.
Of course, I have had this happen before when I FIRST start it after having the gas off. Just restart and its good to go. But in this case, the fridge and gas have been on almost continuous for two weeks.
This is usually a sign of air in the gas line (propane) when starting up. But, once its been running, not sure how air would get in the system to cause this.
Same failure whether on "gas" or "auto".
The fridge is a Norcold, 8 years old. The rv has been bullseye level.
First thought that comes to my mind... Is it possible for propane to get moisture in it like you can get in a gas tank during winter storage? The propane tank was almost full when we stored it, but I guess I'll have it topped off this week to see if that changes anything.
Second, is there any way the solar installation could have affected it? If so, what would it be? (The solar guys can't think of how it would affect anything, but they're willing to have their tech look at it.)
Water heater, furnace & stove have experienced no problems.
Last fall it worked perfectly, so storage and solar install are the only variables that I can see. The solar install comes down the vent over the fridge and through the access panel to the back of the fridge but otherwise, can't see any connection.
As I type this, its 11:20pm. It failed about midnight last night. Fingers crossed tonight!
PS It always fires up immediately when we turn it off and back on.
