Bad control board does not necessarily meen "cooling unit failing". I think you can remove the control board and take it to Crown RV and they can test it for you. Usually though, control boards work or they don't if fuses are good. Might try replacing the electric heating element and see if that makes it work on electric (not that expensive). There is a procedure for testing the thermistor but I cannot recall what it is right now, but if the thermistor stops working, it will usually not cool at all, or will freeze everything in the fridge. Someone will correct me if I'm totally off base as I sometimes am since I am not an RV repair person, just a sometime camper.
