Ok, thanks everybody for the great tips.
My responses for everybodys posts.
- Looks like I optimally need to get the RPMs to be in spec. Either by reducing the new motor or by rebuilding the old.
- I did post on this ongoing problem before. I have tried calling/visiting/dropping off the motor to a number of motor repair people. I cant seem to get anywhere. Maybe a more nationwide search.
- New furnace: I never see $200 or $500. Lol. Please forward me info on these prices. Im seeing $1000 plus for parts only.
- Once your NT-30k motor starts squealing, it wont be long. I found a second new one that was sitting on someones shelf from eby and it lasted almost one season.
- I have spent hours (last season) on finding another OEM motor with no luck. Its not made anymore.
- On Suburban: I loose a degree of respect, as there are still people with fine working NT-30k furnaces, and they have pulled support for this unit. If I have to buy a new furnace, I will be looking for more support. Also, if you call them, you dont get to talk to the hand if you say NT-30k.
