Okay, so I believe you that there isn't a replacement motor. It would have been nice to have had that photograph in the original post. Sometimes aphoto is worth a thousand words...
There are a few salvage yards, one of them may have a used heater that would replace your dying furnace.
When I said $700 for a replacement p,us labor, I was repeating a repar shop 7 years ago. My point was sometimes there are folks out there that have contacts you and I don't have.
It looks like you will have to buy a working furnace, regardless of price.
WOW! I just looked up a NT-30 furnace in a 2016 catalog, over a grand. Steep for a inefficient heater. Mine is too, most of them are it seems.
I mentioned earlier that my motor died in Hill City, Sd, well it was a NT 30K and back then I was told the motor wasn't available but the shop in Elkhart, IN, found and installed one. I had a 1990 Bounder at that time.
