- CA_TravelerExplorer IIINo, use electric heaters.
- BobboExplorer IIThe furnace is propane for heating and 12v for the controls and fan. It does not use 120v in any way.
- 4X4DodgerExplorer III am not sure why you would do this. If you need to cook you most likely need the propane anyway.
But the answer is, unless you have an all electric furnace, NO your furnace depends on the propane to create the heat. It only uses the electric to run the fan motor and the switching on and off of the propane and the furnace via the thermostat. - Kayteg1Explorer IIThe furnace is using 12V coming from converter, so it is using 120V when it is available.
When propane is needed to generate the heat, some use furnace blower to spread the heat from electric heaters.
Electric heaters not only give uneven heat, but the heat will not go into tank bays, so when in freezing temperatures, running furnace blower might be advised. - beemerphile1ExplorerThe furnace burns LPG to create heat. No LPG = no heat, only air blowing.
- n7bsnExplorerIt is possible to add electric forced air to the propane furnace
Cheap Heat - ksg5000ExplorerFan will run just fine .. but without propane you won't get any heat.

Cheap Heat
Very very expensive 1500 watt heater. Why not go to walmart and buy a portable heater for under 35 dollars. - RoyBExplorer III have a couple of these low profile oil-filled heaters that run on 120VAC from Shore Power. Great to have around without having to run the very loud furnace blower.. Keep in mind however the Fyrnace would be needed if it goes down below freezing overnite to keep your Fresh Water tank OK...
I also run a separate extension cord to the shore power pedestal and use their 20A Service receptacle for the electric heaters. This does not take away from any of the 30A service feeding the trailer then...
Roy Ken - Crazy_RayExplorerSimple answer NO
