You have to pull the furnace to do a complete cleaning, regardless of Brand or model of the furnace. Doug

Does he have to pull the entire furnace?

I think I can remove the flue on my old Hydroflame from the outside after taking a few other parts off.

Notice I stated, COMPLETE cleaning, which will require the furnace to be pulled to do a good job. Yes, some models, the burner can be pulled without the furnace being pulled. Doug
  • Sounds like the safest thing to do is pull the whole unit and have it checked by a professional unless I see something obvious.

Fuse is what I meant to say, I have never used the furnace, Just bought the unit in april. Do you clean it from inside the camper? Is there a section on this site dedicated to showing the maint. I do not know the model of furnace off hand.

  • Furnace is back firing due to an imbalance in air/fuel ratio.....could be as simple as spider webs, mud dabbers nests etc in the combustion/exhaust chamber.

Especially if it's been a while since last used.

A good cleaning of burner chamber and air returns is a good place to start.

Now IF it has been used recently and was working fine....then ??
    Which Brand/model of furnace?

And what breaker did you open.......furnace runs on 12V DC power (fuses)?
