Sounds like the thermostat is not working. I am not familiar with this heater, but if it has a wall mounted thermostat with a slide lever it is possible that the contacts are dirty and may just need cleaning. Possible also that a wire has broken or come loose from the thermostat or gas valve. I know that in my S&B I have to clean the contacts occasionally. JMO
