  • Sounds like your control board is detecting a problem and goes into lockout mode. Might need to inspect the burner condition(rusted out screen) and combustion chamber for blockage. Wasp's love heaters for nests.

If it is like mine the steps are as follows.

Contact dinosaur boards (add www. .com and remove space) find out model number of replacement control board

Contact American RV in California and order same

Wait a few days for UPS man

Open outside compartment, Remove circuit board (left side o compartment) Being very careful to remove wires and leads, Transfer wires and leads to DINO board and replace.. due to slightly different (better) mounts I added a couple ZIP TIE wire ties to hold it in place.

I also clear coated the Dino board for corrosion inhibition but this is optional.

    What year?

Prior to 2001......timed delay relay is a stand alone part
After 7/2001....relay & circuit board combined

Remove outside access panel. All components on 8900 Series are accessible via outside access.

WHY do you think relay needs replaced?

    Faulty relay:
    Fan doesn't come ON
Fan runs continuously with thermostat off
Fan shuts down at same time main flame shuts off
The furnace cycles one time leaving the blower running constantly.

The odds are it is your HI LIMIT switch that is bad. Doug
