Furrion Oven Goes Out

Question

Our Furrion oven (Model F1S21L02A-SS) goes out after 5 to 10 minutes of operation. I relight it and it stays on for only another 5 or 10 minutes. I verified that the thermocouple is properly positioned relative to the pilot flame, and I cleaned the thermocouple. I didn't use sand paper as advised - just scraped it with my finger nail. Very small, shiny/silver colored particles came off of it. It worked OK for 2 or 3 uses, then started going out again.

I suspect the thermocouple, but have been unable to find a direct replacement. Does anyone know if a "universal" gas oven thermocouple would work? Anyone else have a similar problem?

Clean the thermocouple with very fine grit sandpaper or emery cloth. I have done this many times with furnaces, stoves, water heaters, etc. You’re not going to hurt it. Secondly, a universal thermocouple for a gas oven “should” work, but sand the old one first, what have you got to lose. Emery cloth or 0000 grade steel wool is actually better than sandpaper. You can also test the thermocouple with a voltmeter, look up “how to…” on the internet.

Does it have a Type “?“ letter code on it? If so, match the type and you’re golden.
