I've looked around and I've deduced that a slower-blow fuse, a Type T, is recommended between the battery bank and the inverter. I have two, group 27 batteries and I'm aimin' to install a 1000 watt inverter with an automatic transfer switch to power a 15 amp circuit in the coach. I'll be ordering a KISAE Model SW1210, which appear to be relativly new. I don't see alot of reviews for them, but the price makes the gamble attractive, of course. I'll be running a laptop or two, a 24" LED TV and maybe a Play Station. I'm thinkin' 1000 watts is overkill, but I'd rather have too much than too little. OP: manual you posted says 150 amp.How far are you running the 12 volt wiring? Need t install large enough wire.

I have installed several INVERTERs over the years. Since everything needs to connect into the battery terminals I always use the BLUE SEA type 505 ANL FUSE BLOCK w/cover.All connections are made with 4AWG cables with ring terminal connections.Roy Ken

OT but you can get it from HERE by the foot just for future reference. You can also get it on ebay by the foot too but a little more expensive there.

This one, and its cousin with the bolt terminals (vs. bare cable terminals), are on my short list. I thought I'd call bestconverter.com tomorrow to check on their 110 amp Class T fuse and block (as mentioned in a previous post).
So, a potential issue with the 100 amp circuit breaker/Switch unit, is blowing too quickly during a surge. As opposed to a Class T that's slower to trip (something like 500 seconds at 150% of the rating).

Hi,

I did use a 100 amp breaker on my previous RV. It worked well, and I never blew it.

AFAIK from my reading of its manual, my Vector inverter requires an ANL fuse because that is how it handles any surge. The surge is over before the fuse blows. eg 2000w normal/4000w surge

Using a breaker would not offer that delay perhaps. ISTR breakers also have some delay to them, but I don't have any times for comparison.

Cool, I used 4/0 welding cable, very eazy to work with.

Xantrex recommended ~250MCM with 4/0 as adequate for the power connection.

Okay, sounds much better. What did you end up using anyway?....the 250 or the 4/0?
