Generac Genny No Crank?
Generac Model 00862-2 QuietPact 55G (QP55).
I decided to service the generator to make sure it is useable. Started looking and found it is in need of some maintenance. PO was NOT in the habit of doing any from the looks of things.
I tried to start it, and heard rapid, heavy clicking. I disconnected the cable going to the starter, and tried the start button. The contactor had a good click indicating it was closing, but I heard a soft clicking sound coming from inside the housing where the switches and PC board are located. I located one page from a service manual, that matches the wire numbers on my wire diagram, but it ends after a couple of test procedures. Trying to get the switch panel off is going to be fun, since it is right next to the genny housing. Might anyone have any insight to what might be clicking inside there? I'm sure it is a relay, but is it part of the board, or replaceable on it's own? This genny is about a 2004 model, and obsolete. I don't really want to buy another one, soince I will probably not ever use it, but I like everything working like it should.
Edit add info: At some point within the past couple of months, there was an attempt to start it from the panel inside the RV. It didn't start, but in reality, we really could not hear what was going on at the genny, so it may have been doing this then as well.
