The funny thing is, I knew all this in the back of my mind, and I did do the math - but the fact that all of you came up with either identical or similar results brings me piece of mind.

So the general consensus is could power a 40amp charger - not pushing the generator too hard?
I can do the math watts/volts = amps so if I used 720 watts (conservatively for a 1000watt max generator) / 14 volts that would give me about 50 amps - again, coming up a bit short due to other issues and parasitic draws.
