I can see moisture building up especially over the winter in the main eng when stored. If the genset is exercised once a mo for an hr or in the OP's case almost double that won't this drive off the moisture and prevent rusting?
Yes...exercising the genset helps prevent rust/condensation buildup. Also, regular oil & filter change, at least yearly is wise and cheap insurance for a healthy genset.
