Was this unspecific enough? Not trying to be cute, this is the reality of an answer.
If you already have the Honda 2000 and want to try it, the above quote is the way to go. Specifically when he mentions turning off all AC load, there are elephants in the room-the fridge (needs to be on gas), water heater off 120V, and the power converter shut off. Plus anything plugged into outlets. It may or may not work.
If you don't own a generator, count me in with nearly everyone-get a 3000 watt or greater generator capacity for use of air conditioner.
