Have not had a chance to check the Hz output yet.
We have nine of the two tube florescent fixtures and a four bulb incandescent chandelier over the dinette. When the lights flicker when the gen set is running, it is all of the lights and it is continuous. I will do a test with all of them on and turn them off one at a time to check the ballast theory.
Seems to me it has to be the generator brushes or output circuitry/voltage regulation. I had not thought about the automatic transfer switch circuitry. If not the generator brushes, it does seem to be an electronic circuit trying to fail and just not there quite yet.
