He is referring to the generator starter motor. I believe he damaged the starter because he tried starting the generator when it was already running. He thought the generator quit because he didn't have power in the rig, but apparently it didn't, so he tried to restart it. Starter motors don't usually like that. :) From the driver's seat you can't really hear what's going on back at the generator.

Rick Jay, you are exactly correct. I hope I can squeeze in where my mechanic did last year to put that starter motor on. I will change the oil and filter and go on about a 300 plus round trip and really give it a good look and listen and lay off the starter of course. You are a sharp and intuitive guy, thanks for your help with this. I feel like you have given me great assistance.
