Remember this every single load of hot water costs you three times as much MONEY (never mind time) using generator gasoline versus LPG.

Down here an all electric house would cost $800 monthly. And that's on public power.

Short term electrical use screams for batteries and inverter. I shudder to think the cost of what polluted crankcase oil, carbonized valves and combustion chambers and starter motors would add up to. You're going to end up paying through the snot box for ON/OFF/ON/OFF/ON/OFF generator use.

or the scooter or motorcycle or atv
most genset problem arise from NOT enough use
not from being used for a few minutes at a time

i run the genset for (2) hours in the morning for breakfast coffee and battery recharge, then it gets to rest until lunch, run 30 minutes, rest until supper
run approx (2) hrs for dinner and evening top off
then the batteries work all night until breakfast

Without A/C, it depends on what coffee maker and MW.

I would rather not run MW on generator, use propane. If you have to run MW, it needs at least 1200W generator. It might say 700W on the box but this is a "cooking power", for housewives, not what it draws. Starting and shutting down generator several times a day for a few minutes MW - neither you nor genny are gonna like it. Get 2-3KW inverter and a decent battery bank, and run your genny once a day for an hour if you don't need A/C on that day.

"Coffee pot" - which one? There are coffee makers that draw 1600W, though the smallest one still draws over 600W. Again, starting your genny on and off several times a day for a few minutes doesn't look good. Can use propane for coffee as well. Or again - inverter.

For assorted reasdons I prefer Yahama to Honda But

No A/C.. 1,000 watts might do it (Yahama EF-1200i) Honda EU-1000i MIGHT but it is not a true 1,000 watt generator (one of the reasons I like Yahama)

If you are burning fuel to make electricity run Fridge and Water heatr on Gas. In fact as much as possible cook with gas (Better cooking anyway).

If you want to run the A/C a Yahama EF-2400i MIGHT, a 3600i LIkely will
A Honda EU-2000 likely will not but two in parallel will.

I am strong believer in Honda EU3000
Not only I can seat on it and hear my wife talking to me, but it will run AC at full blast for over 12hr without fueling (2.5 gallons tank)

A/C will make a difference btw 2000W and 3000W generator. Might have to soft-start the a/c though.

Doesn't look like you need 5000W unless you run a/c, MW, water heater and coffee maker all at the same time. Water heater off the generator is not a very common setup.

Good luck finding truly "quiet" generator :)

Compare the noise levels on different generators. Some will make you very unpopular due to the excessive noise. May also really bother you inside your RV.
