Assuming your transformer is sufficiently large to cover the startup surge of the air conditioner (and not just its running power), the two Honda setups would be all but indistinguishable. You would lose a negligible amount of power to transformer losses with the 240V model, perhaps a percent or two.
If the transformer is undersized for the startup surge, it will limit the current available (and maybe also get quite warm in the process).
