Gfi outlet in my travel trailer

Hopefully, the wire nut exists outside the load center but in a box of some sort. If that isn't the case, you may want to either add a box to enclose that wire nut splice (good time to add a receptacle) or to pull new wire from the outside GFCI to it's own breaker.
From what I've seen, AC distribution in most TT's is woefully inadequate. I'm sure this is at the behest of the bean counters that finalize design.
